ShipStation Pricing
ShipStation restructured its pricing in July 2025, replacing its previous eight-tier model with three plans – Starter, Standard, and Premium – each using volume-based billing. Pricing starts at $14.99/month for 50 shipments on the Starter plan and adjusts based on how many orders you process each month.
All plans include unlimited store connections, carrier rate shopping with USPS, UPS, FedEx, DHL, and GlobalPost, return labels, and a 30-day free trial with no credit card required. The main differences between tiers are automation depth, user count, warehouse tools, and support access. A 90-day satisfaction guarantee covers all paid subscriptions.
Carrier connection fees have been eliminated for accounts created after July 8, 2025. Existing customers on legacy plans may still incur per-carrier charges – upgrading to a new plan removes them.

ShipStation overhauled its pricing in mid-2025, replacing eight fixed plans with three flexible tiers and volume-based billing. Pricing now starts at $14.99 per month for the Starter plan (50 shipments) and scales based on monthly volume.
All plans include a 30-day free trial with no credit card required and a 90-day satisfaction guarantee.
The new structure eliminates the old ShipEasy Free, Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum, and Enterprise tiers. Instead, businesses pick a feature tier (Starter, Standard, or Premium) and pay based on how many shipments they process each month.
Carrier connection fees were removed for all new accounts created after July 8, 2025.
ShipStation Pricing Overview
ShipStation’s pricing model features three plans – Starter, Standard, and Premium – each with tiered pricing based on monthly shipment volume. Billing is monthly in USD, with no long-term contracts and the ability to upgrade or downgrade at any time.
The key shift from the old pricing is flexibility. Previously, a business shipping 600 orders had to pay for the Silver plan (1,000 shipments at $59.99). Now, the same business selects Standard at 500 shipments ($89.99) or 1,000 shipments ($149.99) – paying for features they actually need rather than overpaying for unused capacity.
All three plans share access to ShipStation’s carrier rate shopping with USPS, UPS, FedEx, DHL, and GlobalPost. The differences lie in automation depth, user count, warehouse features, and support level.
There is no free plan – the 30-day free trial (no credit card required) replaces the discontinued ShipEasy tier.
ShipStation Plans and Features
Starter Plan – From $14.99/Month
The Starter plan is designed for small ecommerce businesses shipping between 50 and 5,000 orders monthly. It includes three user accounts, unlimited store connections, automated rate shopping, return labels, basic automations, and reporting. Support is email-only.
Starter volume pricing:
- 50 shipments/month: $14.99

Standard is ShipStation’s most popular tier, bridging mid-market operations with enterprise-grade features. It supports up to ten users, unlimited automation rules, order combining and splitting, free BYOC (bring your own carrier), returns and exchanges management, basic warehouse management, and shipping API access. Is ShipStation Free?
ShipStation no longer offers a free plan. The ShipEasy Free tier (25 shipments/month) was discontinued when ShipStation overhauled pricing in July 2025. However, all three plans include a 30-day free trial with no credit card required.
The free trial gives full access to whichever plan you choose – Starter, Standard, or Premium. There are no feature limitations during the trial period. After 30 days, you select a paid plan and billing begins. ShipStation does not auto-charge if you don’t take action.
Full feature access to test any plan.
ShipStation Hidden Costs and Add-Ons
ShipStation’s subscription price covers core shipping and fulfillment features. However, several optional services and legacy charges should factor into your total cost calculation.
Carrier Connection Fees (Legacy Plans Only)
New plans created after July 8, 2025 include free carrier connections – no monthly per-carrier fees for USPS, UPS, FedEx, DHL, or any other carrier. This is a significant improvement over the old pricing structure.
If you’re on a legacy plan created before July 8, 2025, you may still pay carrier connection fees that varied by tier ($5-$95/month depending on the old plan level). Upgrading to a new plan eliminates these charges.
Optional Add-Ons
ShipStation offers three paid add-ons for specialized workflows:
- Fulfillment: Direct integration with third-party fulfillment providers. Additional fee applies per plan tier.
- 3PL Manager: Tools for managing outsourced logistics operations across multiple warehouses. Separate monthly fee.
- Dropship Manager: Invite vendors to connect their ShipStation accounts as fulfillment providers for automated order routing. Separate subscription.
Most businesses using ShipStation for direct shipping never need these add-ons. They’re designed for sellers with complex multi-vendor or outsourced fulfillment setups.
What’s Included at No Extra Cost
ShipStation’s stated price includes carrier rate shopping, return labels, order management, branded tracking pages, store integrations (unlimited on all plans), and support (email on Starter; email, chat, and phone on Standard/Premium). There are no per-user fees within your plan’s user limit, no integration fees, and no marketplace connection charges.
ShipStation Pricing vs Competitors
How does ShipStation’s new pricing compare to other shipping platforms? Here’s a side-by-side at common volume points.
| Platform | Entry Price | 500 Shipments/Month | Users (Entry) | Key Strength |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| ShipStation Starter | $14.99/mo | $39.99/mo | 3 | Volume-based flexibility |
| ShipStation Standard | $29.99/mo | $89.99/mo | 10 | Unlimited automation + API |
| Shippo Pro | $17/mo (annual) | $17/mo | 5 | Flat pricing, API on all tiers |
| Easyship | $29/mo | ~$69/mo | 3 | International shipping, customs |
| Sendcloud | $45/mo | ~$69/mo | Unlimited | EU-focused, unlimited users |
On raw subscription cost, Shippo Pro wins at every volume up to 10,000 labels with its flat $17/month pricing.
However, ShipStation Standard includes unlimited automations, 10 users, warehouse management, and phone support – features Shippo doesn’t offer at any price point on its Pro tier. If you’re shipping primarily within Europe, Sendcloud is worth evaluating for its unlimited user seats and EU carrier network.

Who Should Choose Which ShipStation Plan?
Starter: Best for Small Stores Shipping Under 500/Month
Starter fits new online sellers, side projects, and small storefronts processing fewer than 500 orders monthly. At $14.99-$39.99/month, the cost is manageable on a tight budget. Three user seats accommodate a solo operator or tiny team.
You get rate shopping, basic automations, and all carrier integrations – enough for straightforward shipping without operational complexity. If you want API access at this price point, Shippo Pro ($17/month) includes it on every tier.
Standard: Best for Growing Businesses Shipping 500-20,000/Month
Standard is the best value for growing SMBs and mid-market retailers. Ten user seats support small operations teams. Unlimited automation rules, order combining/splitting, API access, and phone support enable serious fulfillment workflows.
At 1,000-10,000 shipments monthly, the price-to-feature ratio beats fixed-tier competitors. This is where most sellers find their long-term plan.
Premium: Best for 3PLs and Enterprises Shipping 10,000+/Month
Premium targets third-party logistics providers, fulfillment centers, and high-volume retailers managing thousands of SKUs daily. Fifteen users, advanced inventory tools (forecasting, purchase orders, scan-to-receive), and a dedicated account manager justify the $949-$1,499+ monthly investment.
For international operations, compare Premium against Easyship, which specializes in cross-border customs and duties automation.
ShipStation Pricing FAQ
ShipStation starts at $14.99/month on the Starter plan for up to 50 shipments. Standard starts at $29.99/month, and Premium starts at $349.99/month. All plans use volume-based pricing – you pay more as your shipment count increases within your chosen tier.
For businesses shipping 500+ orders monthly across multiple channels, yes. The automation tools, carrier rate shopping, and multi-channel order management typically save more in labor and shipping costs than the subscription fee. For very small operations (under 100 shipments), the Starter plan is affordable, but free alternatives like Shippo or Pirate Ship may be more cost-effective.
Yes. ShipStation provides a 30-day free trial on all three plans with no credit card required. You get full access to every feature during the trial. After 30 days, you choose a plan and volume tier, or your account pauses with no charge.
Yes. You can upgrade or downgrade at any time. Upgrades take effect immediately with prorated billing. Downgrades take effect at the start of your next billing cycle, so you keep access to higher-tier features until then. There are no early termination fees.
ShipStation does not publicly advertise nonprofit or education discounts. However, high-volume customers (20,000+ shipments/month) can request custom pricing by contacting the sales team, which may include negotiated rates.
ShipStation automatically upgrades you to the next volume bracket within your plan tier. For example, if you’re on Standard at 1,000 shipments ($149.99) and process 1,500 orders, you move to the 2,000-shipment bracket ($174.99). There are no overage penalties – just the next tier’s price.
Shippo Pro costs $17/month (annual) regardless of volume up to 10,000 labels, making it cheaper on raw subscription cost. ShipStation’s volume-based pricing ranges from $14.99 to $799.99+/month depending on shipments and tier. However, ShipStation Standard includes unlimited automations, 10 users, and warehouse management that Shippo Pro doesn’t offer.
Yes – significantly. In July 2025, ShipStation replaced its eight fixed plans (ShipEasy Free through High-Volume) with three flexible tiers (Starter, Standard, Premium) using volume-based billing. Carrier connection fees were eliminated for new accounts. The old plans are no longer available to new customers.
No, not on new plans. Accounts created after July 8, 2025 connect USPS, UPS, FedEx, DHL, and other carriers at no additional cost. Legacy accounts (before July 8, 2025) may still have per-carrier monthly fees – upgrading to a new plan removes these charges.
Starter includes 3 users, Standard includes 10 users, and Premium includes 15 users. Additional users can be purchased on all plans. User permissions let you control what each team member can access and modify.
ShipStation bills monthly. Some annual commitments or volume discounts may be available for high-volume customers shipping 20,000+ orders per month – contact their sales team for custom pricing.
Starter includes email support. Standard adds chat and phone support. Premium includes a dedicated account manager. All plans have access to the chatbot, community forum, and help library.
ShipStation Pricing Review Conclusion
ShipStation’s 2025 pricing overhaul delivers genuine flexibility. By replacing fixed plans with volume-based tiers, it eliminates the common problem of paying for capacity you don’t use. The $14.99 Starter entry point is competitive, and the Standard plan’s unlimited automation plus 10 users make it the clear choice for growing businesses.
The 30-day free trial and 90-day satisfaction guarantee reduce buying risk. Compared to competitors like Shippo, Easyship, and Sendcloud, ShipStation wins on feature depth at mid-to-high volumes – you get warehouse management, unlimited automations, and enterprise analytics that competitors reserve for their top tiers.
The main drawback: no free plan. If you need a permanently free option, Shippo or Pirate Ship are better fits. For everyone else shipping 50+ orders monthly, ShipStation offers strong value at a transparent, predictable cost.
90-day satisfaction guarantee on all paid plans.
