Confluence Pricing

Confluence, the tool that has set a benchmark in the knowledge-sharing industry since 2004, comes with several price packages. At first, the Confluence pricing strategy splits into two separate packages based on the type of service you choose:

  • Cloud
  • Data Center

Furthermore, the pricing packages are split further into categories based on the number of allocated users and payments.

How much does Confluence cost?

Let me know how large your team is and your data governance policy, and I can tell you how much Confluence costs. In short, a free version is available for up to 10 users. For enterprise users, you can integrate an unlimited number of users for approximately $200.000 a month.

It is worth mentioning that all Confluence products come with a 30-day money-back policy.

Is there a free version of Confluence?

As mentioned above, yes. There is a free version of Confluence Cloud for up to 10 users. The freemium version comes with a generous package that grants you access to most features, but it’s more begging to use the product as with any free product. We would call it an extended Confluence trial with a slippery slope to the Premium version.

Confluence trial versions are also available for all their product segments. However, the amount of time you have available in the trial versions differs from Cloud, which offers 7 days free for their Standard, Premium, and Enterprise packages to 30 days free Confluence trial in their self-managed solutions (Server and Data Center).

Let’s move on and take a closer look at how much you are expected to take out of your pocket to enjoy Confluence. But first, let’s take all the packages based on service type and decide which suits you best.

Confluence Cloud Pricing

Firstly, the Confluence Cloud pricing offers up to 10 users a free version. However, as with everything complimentary, not all the features are available. Furthermore, the always-free version has many limitations on the number of sites (1) and storage capacity, which is limited to 2GB.

Secondly, the Confluence license standard version comes with a $5 cost per user, a limit of a maximum of 10.000 users with a storage of 250GB; apart from the freemium version, the standard comes with a more extensive features’ availability like Page insight and Page & Space permissions.

Thirdly, for double the price per user of the Standard Package, the Premium price plan comes with no limitation in terms of storage and features other than a maximum of 10.000 users limit. So, $10 per user grants you access to the newest implemented features, such as the Beta version of Sandbox and Release tracks, and a guarantee of access to the latest software updated as soon as they are released.

Last, the Enterprise version comes with an unlimited number of sites you can intergrade. Still, with a 10.000 limit on the number of users. In contrast to the other Confluence licenses, enterprise clients benefit from 24/7 Enterprise Support and Org-Level billing. To become an Enterprise client, you must reach out to the Confluence Sales team and negotiate a price.

Above all, keep in mind that all Confluence Cloud pricing models come with an annual billing version as well. Also, trial versions are available for seven days for all the Confluence Cloud plans.
